I wanted to call my recent article, “We all die alone.”
But the editors of the online journal where I publish, Elephant Journal, said that if I called it “We all die alone,” no one would click on it.
So we went through several iterations of titles. Including “What we really think about on our deathbeds” and finally ended up with “7 Life-Review Questions for the Living & the Dying.” But the truth is that dying is an inside job. My friend Mary Lane says, “It’s between us and our soul.” And for sure, the quality of the relationship we have with our own inner world (soul, self, essence, divinity, consciousness) determines the quality of our death experience. As well as our lived experience. I’ve been loving the “Walking Towards a Good Death” Workshop Series that Mary Lane and I are teaching right now. The four sections are focused on: 1. Letting Go, 2. Soulfulness, 3. Presence, 4. Receiving. It’s been a profound journey and I’m learning so much. The biggest question on my heart is how do I live a more soul-guided life? I would love to hear from you if you have thoughts on that subject. I’m so eager to explore about how friends are letting their soul guide their existence. If you feel called, please reply to me and let me know. I’m constantly inspired by the creativity of humans. Mary and I are teaching another Walking Towards A Good Death–An Invitation for Internal Preparation in November of this year. So if you missed this one, you can always join us again. It’s a real strong invitation and a deep dive into ourselves. There’s no doubt, it packs a punch! I’m also offering an End of Life Paperwork and Planning course in April. It’s a two-part series on April 1 and April 8 from 2-6pm. And I’m super excited to offer an introduction to the Enneagram in May. It’s called The Enneagram for Sacred Self Inquiry–And a Deeper Intimacy with the Soul. Please join me if you want to know more about this powerful tool. Much love and happy Spring.
